In 2022, SERMAG obtained the Plastica Seconda Vita certification, issued by the Italian certification body IIP.

The certification applies to all materials that are the direct result of recycling operations carried out by waste treatment plants authorized or already certified Plastica Seconda Vita.

All of Sermag’s 100% recycled Secondary Raw Materials have been certified under the brands RIMAGLENE®, RILETILENE® and RIPLASTENE®, classified by material origin: from industrial waste (SI) or from separate collection (RD).

Byproducts under the BYSERPLENE® brand have also been certified, following a dedicated regulation separate from the one used for SRMs.

For the patented technical compounds RINNO-V-ENE®, a certificate was issued with a minimum recycled content of 60%, from pre- or post-consumer origin.

During the recertification audit in October 2023, the PCRPOMIX® product family was added to the certification, which includes recycled HDPE granules for blow molding and film production.

IIP issued four different certificates, respectively for:

• 100% recycled plastic from industrial waste;
• 100% recycled plastic from separate collection;
• Plastic byproducts;
• Products with variable percentages of recycled content from pre- or post-consumer sources;

The certification process that SERMAG has been pursuing for over five years conveys great transparency to its customers, who consciously choose to purchase recycled raw materials over virgin ones, knowing they are buying certified, safe, tested products with high quality standards.
