ISO 9001 is the reference standard for organizations that aim to plan, implement, monitor, and improve both operational and support processes by designing and implementing the quality management system as a tool to achieve their objectives. The customer and customer satisfaction are at the core of ISO 9001; every activity, application, and monitoring of actions/processes is aimed at achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction (and, where applicable, that of the end user).

The implementation of the standard starts with defining procedures and records for each process or macro-process identified within the organization.

The ISO 14001 standard is a certifiable framework by an accredited certification body that confirms compliance with its stated requirements. ISO 14001 certification is not mandatory but is the result of a voluntary choice by the company to implement and improve its environmental management system.

The certification is based on drafting an environmental policy, which serves as the framework for setting activities and defining environmental objectives. In other words, defining an environmental policy means establishing the company’s environmental mission and represents the formal commitment made by top management to continuous improvement, adequacy, and dissemination of the environmental management system.
