SERMAG, starting from 2017, has requested and obtained important certifications from CSI IMQ Group for its products, “Recycled Plastic – Secondary Raw Material” and “Recycled Plastic – Plastic from Byproduct”. The first certifies and guarantees the real legal nature of secondary raw material (in compliance with the provisions of the Environmental Code and the UNI 10667 standards), while the second certifies the compliance of the polymers obtained from the processing of by-products with the UNI 10667-1 standard.
In line with the growing attention to quality, safety and eco-sustainability, SERMAG has been the first company in Italy to be able to boast in January 2020 the prestigious “Recycled Plastic – Traceability of Materials” certification issued by CSI IMQ Group. The license certifies the effectiveness of the traceability system of incoming and outgoing materials and the effective use of recycled plastic materials. Traceability allows to know the history of all polymers, reconstructing and following the path of each material capable of becoming part of a compound or a SERMAG mixture, tracing back to all stages of production, transformation and distribution.
The latest certifications issued in 2020 by CSI IMQ Group to SERMAG are “Recycled Plastic PIR – PCR” relating to the origin of the recycled polymer (PIR or PCR) and the percentage of recycled polymer present in a product or mixture.
The acronym PIR means Post Industrial Recycling, that is, according to the definition of the UNI EN ISO 14021, “Material removed from the waste stream during a manufacturing process”.
With the acronym PCR, on the other hand, means Post Consumer Recycling, that is, according to the definition of the UNI EN ISO 14021, “Material generated by domestic settlements or by commercial, industrial installations and institutions in their role as end users of the product, which can no longer be used for the intended purpose“.
The certification process that SERMAG has started in recent years, transmits great transparency to its customers who consciously choose to buy recycled raw materials, preferring them to virgin ones, knowing that they are buying safe, analyzed products with high quality standards.
